Summary: Spamd process regularly runs away using 100% processor
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: 2.44
          Platform: PC
               URL: http://www.mjvn.co.za
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P5
         Component: spamc/spamd
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The spamd (parent) process regularly runs away and uses 100% processor
resources.

Box is a 2400XP Athlon with 1GB ram and 120GB diskspace running redhat 9 which
is 100% up2date. It handles mail for 2000+ users. We also saw this on
another server earlier.

We currently restart the daemon every 30 minutes but still get runaway
processes. I searched the bugz and internet as a whole and could find other
references to a similar problem but no solutions.
