I think this will cause a surprise to many, and as I mentioned, found it a bit surprising during testing (since the AWL swamped the scores and other effects I was looking at). Perhaps time is of the essence and the change needs to go into effect now, but my impression is that many folks don't run with AWL, and they'll be a bit surprised by this. Perhaps, consider the following: Proposal: Add the AWL directive in 2.70, and require that the user respond during the Makefile build process whether they want AWL on by default or not. Then, based upon their response, add an explicit directive into an appropriate installed .cf file.
