There are still kluges in the code unfortunately -- I'm just trying to
avoid adding any more, and in fact want to remove the ones that are there.
Hence the "let's solve the problem, not just work-around when it occurs".

People have reported that magic tokens get "corrupted" in the past in the
same way.  However, no one has ever been able to reproduce it reliably,
and it has never occured for most people, which points away from the SA
code and more towards something local on each system.  One thing that
jumps to mind is people who may run both 2.5x and 2.6x against the same
Bayes DB -- that'll corrupt the DB really quickly.
