I installed this package and met the same error. This occured because the new syslogd daemon was launched very late (in fact, after the spamassassindaemon), I solved it by doing : mv /etc/rcX.d/S20inetutils-sysklogd /etc/rcX.d/S10intetutils-sysklogd.
