Spamc's primary design goal is to have the smallest possible startup overhead. starting a jvm, perl, or python interpreter is *exactly what it's designed to avoid*. If you know of a portable language that can run *without interpreter startup overhead* on the range of platforms we support, great, I'll be happy to hear about it.
