+1 on adding this to the trunk for 3.1.0. once we fork 3.0.0. It's a great
patch!
-1 on adding this change to 3.0.0, it's just too close to release. I'm
afraid this could end up delaying the release for weeks. Even if we delay
for a week, it could still mean a delay of weeks.
I changed the milestone to 3.1.0.
