As a clarification, RFC2822 doesn't specify anything about the body of a message except that CR and LF must never appear alone and only as a CRLF combination, and that lines must be limited to 998 characters and should be limited to 78 characters. 2822 is about technical message formats (mostly headers), not netiquette. However, RFC 1855 (http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1855.html) does talk about it since it is the "Netiquette Guidelines" RFC ... ;) "If you are sending a reply to a message or a posting be sure you summarize the original at the top of the message, or include just enough text of the original to give a context. This will make sure readers understand when they start to read your response. Since NetNews, especially, is proliferated by distributing the postings from one host to another, it is possible to see a response to a message before seeing the original. Giving context helps everyone. But do not include the entire original!" -- Randomly Generated Tagline: This tagline taunts the omish because they'll never know. _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes?
