Well, first get spamassassin installed.. untar it, install it per the INSTALL file. Note that SA doesn't "force" itself into your mail processing stream so doing this part in advance doesn't alter qmail.

Then see if it works properly when invoked via the command line.

spamassassin -tD <sample-spam.txt

Once that part works, you can work on integrating it with qmail. And now that I've changed the subject to give a useful hint that this involves qmail, you'll have a substantially greater chance that someone who knows qmail will read this and reply telling you how to do that part.

I don't know either of these work, but a VERY trivial google search for 'spamassassin qmail' pointed me to this tool:
