one button which will delete as spam, another which will learn as ham. basically my idea for the delete as spam is to move the mail to a Spam folder, then run it through sa-learn either upon exit or with a cron job, then delete the messages from the folder
(thesis will be available in sept (touch wood) for anyone who fancies a read, my postings to this list were basically to help me get the bugger installed and working so that i could get to the pluggin stage)

I thought about doing some research on SPAM and came up with the following:1: Write a plugin for outlook that let's you mark a message as SPAM 2: Write a Daemon that listens for people to send it spam and update the baysian<sp> filter in SA with it the plugin would allow you to "delete as spam". this would send the email /w headers to the daemon. issues that need to be addressed obviously are security and users submitting non-spam. Using Trust metrics (http://www.levien.com/thesis/thesis.pdf) this might be possible. I am thinking about doing this for my thesis. If anyone would care to comment... It should be possible...Not with outlook :) It is theoreticaly possible with the right mailsystem, but Outlook just isn't such a tool. It _might_ be possible for them to do a "pop without delete" trick and leave mail on the server, but you won't be able to do it with a simple forwarding scheme using outlook. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: INetU Attention Web Developers & Consultants: Become An INetU Hosting Partner.
