Hello everyone,

I recently installed SpamAssassin 2.50 from the SuSE 8.2 distribution CD.
It already filters out lots of spams so I don't have to read them, but there
are still several messages a day that are not detected as spam.

For that purpose, I made a maildir folder where I collect all messages
that were not detected, but that I do consider to be spam. A shell script that
runs from the cron every 15 minutes reports each message in that folder
using spamassassin --report. Then it moves the message to another folder.

What worries me is that if I, after reporting the message, pass the message
through spamc again, it still doesn't consider the message to be spam.

First I thought it had to do with wrong startup options of spamd,
so I changed some of them which were indeed wrong.
For instance it was running with the local checks only option.

Then I thought it had to do with the auto-whitelist, because every time I
passed the same message through spamc again, the message had a lower number
of hits. So I disabled auto-whitelisting, but also that wasn't the solution.

Does anybody know why these messages that I reported to the
pyzor / razor / dcc databases still don't get detected as spam ?

And are the pyzor / razor / dcc checks performed on all messages ?
How do I know if these checks were done ?

Best regards,

Eric Veltman
