Greetings SA Community, I have a simple Sendmail->Procmail->SA setup working on RH 9.0. It is great!! Thank you SA developers and list posters. I have been reading this list for a few weeks in order to scale the learning curve and do more advanced things with all three of these tools. Although I am a Java/C++ programmer/designer by trade, I hope to find a way to "give back" to the SA community someday. Enough platitudes? I'm sincere though...
Please help me find good "books" about email standards, protocols, headers, etc. I prefer book form initially in preparation for future study of the relevant RFCs. I have searched unsuccessfully in this list's archives for such information. I have read Amazon reviews of Rhoton's, Wood's, Hughes', and Johnson's books. I am leaning toward Wood's book because of the insane prices quoted for the last two and that Rhoton's uses VB code (maybe unfair discrimination). Any and all thoughts are appreciated. My goal is knowledge acquisition, conceptual understanding and I am not dissuaded by a dry presentation as long as it is sound and complete. Yeah, I know I should read the RFCs. I will... Thoughts? Reviews? Suggestions? Also, how have readers liked McCarthy's Procmail Companion?
