Upgrading is a good thing. However, since I know pretty well nothing
about Linux and precious little about CPAN, I'll leave this part for

"By default" really depends a lot on how you run SA. With CGPSA, you get
only error messages logged to cgpsa.err. Once you upgrade, assuming you
also upgrade CGPSA, you'll have the option to turn on "debug" logging
for SA, whereby you can get lots of info--probably too much--about what
SA is doing.

I'd suggest that for stats, you ask the question on the CGPSA discussion
list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Join by sending a blank
e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

For that matter, they might even be able to help you with the upgrade
information you need.
