I've just cleaned up a "search engine optimization" web spammer's attempts to use the SpamAssassin Wiki to gain PageRank. The irony of attempting to use an anti-spam Wiki, to spam, should not be overlooked ;)
The spammer came from 61.17.115.6 -- : jm 1008...; whois 61.17.115.0 % [whois.apnic.net node-1] % Whois data copyright terms http://www.apnic.net/db/dbcopyright.html inetnum: 61.17.115.0 - 61.17.115.255 netname: Sikkanet country: IN descr: Sikka Net descr: ISP, Lucknow admin-c: BR31-AP tech-c: BR31-AP status: ASSIGNED NON-PORTABLE changed: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 20040121 mnt-by: MAINT-IN-DISHNET source: APNIC One of their spamvertized URLs was for http://www.websitedesigning promotion.com/ , an "SEO" company based in India, with mostly nonexistent contact info apart from a phone number in the south-east -- Wdp wdp ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) india india null,110011 IN Tel. +91.4564364 It was easy enough to spot via RecentChanges.
