I am currently running SA under perl with a proxy on XP. It works
fine, but is so slow that my POP connection keeps timing out.

Before jumping feet first into Unix, I thought I'd try to get spamd
running under cygwin on XP. Got the instructions from SourceForge.
Followed them perfectly (I hope), and everything seemed to build and
install the way it was supposed to.

My first question is - once I get spamd and spamc running, how do I
funnel my mail through SA? I'm using Spamgrinderproxy which evidently
looks for spamassassin.bat, and that's how my mail is run against SA
currently. There doesn't appear to be any spamassassin.bat with this
setup, so Spamgrinderproxy gets the mail from my POP account and
delivers it to my email program with no checking done.

Question 2 - I think there may be something wrong with the spamd
installation. When I run the batch file you are instructed to make, I
get the following errors:

If I try it in Cygwin: Unix passed to set logsock, but path not
available at /usr/bin/spamd line 278.

If I try it in XP: Subroutione CWD::fastcwd redefined at
/usr/lib/perl5/5.82/cygwin-thread-multi-64int/XS Loader.pm line 91
Several mores similar errors citing getcwd - line 572; fastcwd - line
574; and abs-path line 575

Any help would be appreciated. If you need more info, I'll get it for
you.

TIA,

grant
