I, for one, would like to *suggest* a standard naming and header convention
for SARE rules --

perhaps something like:

 "99_something_blah" wherein 99 means that the ruleset is active
 "98_more_blah" wherein 98 means that the ruleset is stable
... etc. etc. etc. ...

and then the header/comment could state something similar to the listings at
http://www.rulesemporium.com/rules.htm -- with the Description, Author,
License, Status, LastUpdatedDate,
Auto-update, Website and Notes.

Many of the rules do provide at least some of this information, but others
have little more than the authors name. As Chris pointed out "We definetly
want standards" --  many of us love these rules too, but are afraid to use
them to the extent they could as they could due to the lack of standards...

This would definately make things easier, especially for the paranoid who
want to have all necessary information about a given external ruleset at
close hand [and also their managers].
