Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot something like this?
Could be a DNSBL or razor/dcc/pyzor weirdness.. Do you use network checks?
Perhaps shorten your rbl_timeout/razor_timeout/etc as appropriate and see what happens.
You can watch for inordinate pauses by running spamassassin --lint -D.. sometimes the debug helps as it reports on timeouts, etc.
