I got the same errors after uprading Perl recently to 5.8.4. I had to go into the site_perl directory of the older versions, which are left behind, and renamed modules that installed inside any Spamassassin folders. I then used re-installed with CPAN any modules in the Spamassassin INSTALL file, and life is good. I had the same problem with Razor, by the way. @INC is more or less the perl equivalent of your path, but harder to modify.
