OK all thanks so much for the help, now have rbl stuff working and installed spam-cop via cpan. Do I need to do anything to enable spamcop doing the surble look up. Where does the default rule live

It should be in /etc/mail/spamassassin/spamcop_uri.cf
There's also some other options outlined in that file.
