I've recently installed a new linux box (SuSE 9.1) and want to move my mailserver to it. I'm having trouble however getting Spamassassin to work. Somehow, spamd doesn't get the message (literally and figuratively speaking).
I'm using kernel 2.6.4 with sendmail 8.12.11, spamassassin 2.63, Berkely DB 4.2.52, milter-spamc (www.snert.org) 0.17 and libsnert 1.33.
When I connect, everything seems to go ok, right up to the time where the message should be passed to spamd. It simply never gets there (two logs included below, one working from my old server and the one from my new server. The spamd lines are missing. The milter is working (senders with non-rfc compliant addresses are rejected), but it can't seem to pass the message on to spamd.
I've tried recompiling every single part of the list above, and now I'm out of ideas. Anyone have a suggestion what might be causing this? The two machines have practically the same hardware, the only differences being the linux version (SuSE 9.0 vs 9.1) and therefore the kernel version (2.4.21 vs 2.6.4) and the spamassassin versions. My old server is running 2.61, the new one 2.63.
Is there any kind of issue with spamassassin and kernel 2.6 that might be causing this?
