Hi I have been running spamassassin for sometime without any problem. My mail server is a Dell P4 2.4 HT with 1GB ram. In a day it processes 1,00,000+ mails and no problem with that. Rescently I thought of using razor2. I noticed sudden increase in average mail processing time ( around 4-5 sec avg. now) before it was less than 1 sec. But that may be due to network latency and other thing.
Also I have noticed some differences in the log file generated by razor agent and that by spamd. Please notice the PID of the identified spam message in the two log files below. /var/log/messages spamd[14515]: identified spam (10.0/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 3.5 seconds spamd[14513]: identified spam (6.7/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 6.6 seconds spamd[14521]: identified spam (7.9/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 3.5 seconds spamd[14522]: identified spam (5.7/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 4.3 seconds spamd[14516]: identified spam (8.9/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 11.6 seconds spamd[14540]: identified spam (7.5/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 5.0 seconds spamd[14543]: identified spam (8.9/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 3.6 seconds spamd[14566]: identified spam (7.3/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 9.5 seconds spamd[14573]: identified spam (9.7/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 4.3 seconds spamd[14576]: identified spam (7.2/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 6.4 seconds spamd[14590]: identified spam (6.5/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 2.8 seconds spamd[14588]: identified spam (9.2/5.0) for (unknown):501 in 4.8 seconds razor-agent.log Jun 06 12:41:55.285833 check[14515]: [ 3] mail 1 is known spam. I think spamd is not tagging ( or considering ) the message as spam although it was identified as spam by razor agent.
