I'd strongly recommend against autodeleting spam as it comes in unless this is a "private" corporate server that does not handle paid customer email accounts, or a personal server. I've developed a Perl script that can automatically trim mbox spam folders when called from cron daily, along with a "manual" version; you should be able to adapt them to your setup.
