It's not completely obvious, it's buried in the fourth paragraph under
Description in 'man sa-learn', beneath 2-3 pages of option flags.
SpamAssassin remembers which mail messages it's learnt
already, and will not re-learn those messages again,
unless you use the --forget option. Messages learnt as
spam will have SpamAssassin markup removed, on the fly.
The docs probably should be clarified because this is a good question; the
answer is easy to miss. I'd hate to think that someone spent months
unnecessarily funnelling their spam through 'spamassassin -d' before
passing it so sa-learn.
