In most cases they should.  
 
On a related note...
 
My wife has a friend who sends a lot of email from his iMac and for some odd 
reason it comes though as spam on the RBLs even though he sends through the 
ISP.  I check the headers every once in a while and the sending address (which 
is dialup) is listed as the culprit even though he sends through an Earthlink 
server.  The guy's not a techie as all so I don't think he's getting creative...

Shouldn't those message be sent through T-Online's mailservers, not
directly to your mail system?
