In the source code directory for spamassassin, there is a sample-spam.txt
file (You can use any test of message for this test, I just say this one
since it is SPAM).

IE mine would be:

Spamassassin -D < /usr/local/src/Mail-SpamAssassin-2.63/sample-spam.txt

You will see the debug messages for Bayes. My guess is you will see
something like:

debug: bayes: 4332 tie-ing to DB file R/O
/home/spamd/.spamassassin/bayes_toks
debug: bayes: 4332 tie-ing to DB file R/O
/home/spamd/.spamassassin/bayes_seen
debug: bayes: found bayes db version 2
debug: bayes: Not available for scanning, only 1 spam(s) in Bayes DB < 200

Means you need more HAM / SPAM (whichever the case is)

Steve

Subject: use_bayes 1 :: No Bayes!

Hi,

I have "use_bayes 1" in my /etc/MailScanner/spam.assassin.prefs.conf but
I'm not seeing any indication in the headers that Bayes is being included
in the SA tests.

My setup is site-wide, and I have trained Bayes with a couple thousand spam.

Sorry if this is elementary.

Thanks,

Andy Norris
