Don't forget this:

  <a href="http://poisonurl.whatever";><img 
src="http://example.com/1x1-pixel.gif";></a>

which would have to be distinguished from this:

  <a href="http://spammers-real-url.whatever";><img 
src="http://example.com/some-clickworthy-picture.gif";></a>

We hardly want to get into retrieving every linked image to 
figure out what size they are.  For that matter, the spammers 
could do this:

  <a href="http://poisonurl.whatever";><img 
src="http://example.com/large-block-of-background-
color.gif"></a>
