Once I installed amavis-new on top of spamassassin all my scoring is coming back much lower and tons of spam is getting through. The headers are modified and showing many rules that are hit, but low scores.
Eh, amavis does not give different scores than spamassassin. Did you reinstall spamassassin ?
I have been running spamassassin for about 8 months. Works great, had it tweaked perfect.
Which files did you tweak? files in /usr/share/spamassassin (bad) or /etc/mail/spamassassin (good) ? Did you verify that your tweaks are still there ?
Does anyone know why this would happen? Is amavis maybe ignoring some custom rules or scoring?
amavis uses score 6.3 as mimimum score for spam (sa_kill_level_deflt in amavisd.conf) while spamassassin uses a score of 5.0. This implies different behaviour but not lower scoring.
