I'm having an issue now with spamassassin not using my
local.cf file when configured with Amavis.

I had a similiar problem with bayes earlier.

Everything was working fine with spamassassin on its own,
but now that I have Amavis on top of it it doesn't seem to
recognize anything in my local.cf file.

I made a specific rule in my local.cf to test.

blacklist_from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I then sent a message to my inbox from [EMAIL PROTECTED]
account. It came right through.

local.cf is in /etc/mail/spamassassin/

Strangely I tried the same thing under amavis home
spamassassin user_prefs file. No luck??

Very strange.

Any thoughts.

Thanks,

Kevin

Did you restart amavisd? It needs a full restart for SA configuration settings to be reread, not just an `amavisd restart` but a stop and start. Also make sure permissions on /etc/mail/spamassassin are set so that the amavis use can read files in that directory.
