Category: None Group: 1.1.x Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Rex Lorenzo (rlorenzo) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Spyware detected in spambayes directory Initial Comment: Hello, I just ran MS AntiSpyware Beta1 with the newest definitions and it detected a "NS Keylogger Personal Monitor (Key Logger)" in c:\program files\spambayes\unins000.exe directory. Is this a real spambayes file, or did I pick this up on my journey through the Internet? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Tony Meyer (anadelonbrin) Date: 2005-04-26 14:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=552329 FWIW, I use MS AntiSpyware, and it's never considered any Inno uninstaller (including spambayes') as spyware. They might differ per machine, I suppose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kenny Pitt (kpitt) Date: 2005-04-23 04:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=859086 The file "unins000.exe" is the uninstall program created by the InnoSetup installer for SpamBayes. Unless some virus or spyware has somehow found and modified this particular file, it is perfectly legitimate. Since Microsoft AntiSpyware is still in beta test, it is not unlikely that it could generate some false positives. If you have any questions about this file, I would get a "second opinion" from your anti-virus software or one of the other free spyware detection utilities. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=1188177&group_id=61702 _______________________________________________ Spambayes-bugs mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/spambayes-bugs
