Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Outlook Group: Source code 1.0 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: mewaters (mewaters) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Training Bayes, Cannot Expand top-level folders Initial Comment: I think I've followed the instructions here, but I'm having trouble installing SpamBayes with Outlook 2003 on Windows XP MCE PC. I have an IMAP setup, so I installed from source. Please let me know if this was the wrong thing to do. I had initially run the installer, and I thought it was successful until my screen froze on the SpamBayes training screen. This was when I found out you needed to install from source if you are using IMAP. So then I uninstalled SpamBayes, and tried to do it over, this time installing from source. I downloaded Python 2.4.3., pywin32-208.win32-py2.4.exe, and (mistakenly) spambayes-1.1a2.zip. I ran the installs for the first two, unzipped the third and ran the addin.pl in the Outlook 2000 folder. Installation was unsuccessful because I should have downloaded spambayes-1.0.4.zip. Nothing happened when I ran Outlook to indicate that SpamBayes was installed, except the Toolbar Icons were still there from the initial time I'd used the installer. OK, next I deleted the unzipped spambayes-1.1a2 folder, and downloaded the correct 1.0.4 zip file. I unzipped it, and ran addin.pl. This is basically my current situation. I believe I degistered the addin.pl file and deleted the spambayes-1.0.4 folder once because of the problem that at long last I will describe. In any case, this is the problem that persists, and I am basically unable to configure SpamBayes: Now, when I open Outlook, I get the configuration screen which prompts me to "train" SpamBayes as to what it should consider spam. I click "browse" to designate the portions of my mail folder that contain spam and those which do not. Unfortunately, on the popup box that tells me to select folders, I can only see my top-level folders. All of the sub level folders are inaccessible despite the fact that there is a "plus" box next to each top-level folder. Nothing I do allows me to see what's inside the top level and choose appropriately. Sorry to be so long-winded, but please somebody help me... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=1486943&group_id=61702 _______________________________________________ Spambayes-bugs mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/spambayes-bugs
