Category: Outlook Group: 1.0.4 Status: Closed Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Submitted By: Christian Blackburn (seier) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Delete as Spam Doesn't Delete Anything Initial Comment: Problem: SpamBayes has a button inside of outlook while in the inbox, titled Delete as spam. After clicking on it the e-mail is neither deleted entirely nor sent to the deleted items bin. Instead it's placed in the junk mail folder. That's not a delete button at all. Repro: (Install SpamBayes Outlook Plugin 1.04) 1. View your inbox 2. Select a piece of spam 3. Click [Delete as Spam] Result: The spam file shows up in the [Junk E-Mail] folder rather than the deleted items bin, or being permanently deleted. Expected: The item should be placed in the deleted items bin. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Tony Meyer (anadelonbrin) Date: 2006-05-24 12:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=552329 See 973376: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=973376&group_id=61702&atid=498106 There is very little point in this. For a start, if you don't want to put it in the Deleted Items folder, then delete the message, don't move it (this has nothing to do with SpamBayes, it's learning how to use Outlook). You should periodically review the spam folder anyway, in case of false positives. So you're already processing that folder. If you don't want to delete the messages in there yourself, then Outlook can do that for you (c.f. AutoArchive) -- again, this is learning how to use Outlook, not anything to do with SpamBayes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christian Blackburn (seier) Date: 2006-05-24 10:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=561770 Hi Anadelonbrin, I don't think such a button would be very useful, if I had the option of a button doing what I'm suggesting and what exists now. I wouldn't even put that button on my toolbar. Once you know it's spam, why would you want to handle it two more times, deleting it from the Junk Mail folder, and then again from the deleted items bin. Thanks, Christian Blackburn ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tony Meyer (anadelonbrin) Date: 2006-05-24 09:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=552329 The button is called "Spam" in 1.1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=1493835&group_id=61702 _______________________________________________ Spambayes-bugs mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/spambayes-bugs
