I'm sorry that you encountered such difficulty. I don't know if Outlook Express 6 is a current version or not. I'm not a Windows user, but thought that it had been discarded long ago and superceded by Windows Live Mail. In any case, due to lack of Windows programmer availability, coupled with advances in spam filtering by major free Web-based mail services such as Gmail, there has not been a release of SpamBayes since 2010. As the last semi-active developer, I stopped using it altogether a year ago, and hadn't really exercised it much for two years before that. I'm a Gmail and pobox.com user, and between the two of them, basically never see spam in my inbox. I'm pretty sure there are no other SpamBayes users who still use Outlook Express, but you might try asking on the spamba...@python.org mailing list if there is someone who can help you set up and configure that combination.
