Now this one is just plain weird - this spam was sent to my optushome.com.au address, which has never been used publicly (it normally only receives stuff from Optus or stuff forwarded from other accounts). Somehow, somebody's managed to connect that address with the CAUBE web site.
The only way I can see this having happened is if somebody extracted the address and URL from a spam complaint I sent. I rarely send spam complaints to anybody other than abuse@sender-service-provider, so the implications of this are fairly serious. Interestingly, the most recent spam complaint I sent was to Optus, about Optus spam. Does anybody know the story with RankReports?
