Which is exactly why I'm consulting the experts :-)

I have a few ideas about how to distinguish them automatically, but I more
or less gave up on the idea of a totally independent client. It will need
some help, and someone will need to keep track of spam sites. This makes it
a bit more difficult to administer, but considerably simpler
technologically.

See? I knew talking to you guys is going to be helpful. I haven't heard of
migmaf until now. However, it will work on migmafed machines, as well,
simply bringing down the current machine that acts as a webserver. I'll need
to look into migmaf some more, obviously.

Even

  Everybody needs a hobby, right?

Two things. First, I've been looking around for a summary that describes
the business model of spammers. I have an educated guess, but I'd like to
get the full picture. I couldn't find anything more updated than 1998.
Second, there's a group of people who are developing something rather
similar to what I had in mind. They can be found in www.spamitback.com. If
you don't approve of abusing spammer's machines as a valid response to
spam - don't go there.

  Thank you,
  Itay.
