I use spamdyke with qmail. qmail don¹t relay.

If you want, that users could use the server as relay, so they have to
authenticate. Spamdyke don¹t authentificate by itself it uses qmail. If you
are authentificated by qmail you qmail will relay you message.

Did i understand you right? (My englisch is not so very well....) :-(
