This problem seems to exist really, I've it too 8-(

 I'm sure there is no error within the setup or the configuration. But - I 
found a really
 interesting thing: This problems seems only to occur if 'reject-empty-rdns' is 
disabled.
 If reject-empty-rdns is enabled, all seems to be fine.

 Playing with it and made an rbl that blocks any connection (on a spam-trap 
server) one see
 the difference:

 reject-empty-rdns On  = all ok
 reject-empty-rdns Off = all connections blocked by RBL, _but_ there are 
hundrets of 
                         connections sitting around (LAST_ACK/CLOSE_WAIT/..) 
for long time
