I added the following to this new config file:
smtp-auth-level=ondemand-encrypted
smtp-auth-command=/var/qmail/bin/smtp_auth /var/qmail/bin/true
smtp-auth-command=/var/qmail/bin/cmd5checkpw /var/qmail/bin/true

I believe I needed it.

We also have customers that use POP-Before-SMTP, and not smtp auth.   Do 
I need to do anything for them?
