No veo claro el comentario de para iniciados, por que podría decirse que ubuntu es el S.O de la Barbie, creo que el problema de la compilación se debe a que faltan librerías gráficas para ejecutar el mapserver correcto sobre todo gdal.
mauricio Chequea que todas las librerías de imágenes estén instaladas y que estés apuntando a la ruta correcta, saludos.
