The Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES) of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is looking for an experienced scientist (PhD level or 5 years research experience after the university degree giving access to doctoral studies) to work on ecological modeling and forecasting to assess impact of anthropogenic pressures on biodiversity and ecosystem services. With a focus on protected areas, changes to biodiversity, habitats and ecosystem services will have to be assessed and simulated according to various environmental policies scenarios. The selected candidate needs to have excellent skills in spatial modeling and multivariate statistics and have very strong programming skills (R, Python) to develop models for web services.
