I'm setting up Google Calendars for the first time so that, hopefully, my wife and I can see what we have in each other's iCals. It looks like SpanningSync gives me all the capabilities I need to EASILY send dates and events back and forth between iCal and gCal so that gCal can serve as the central clearing house.
What's missing from the scenario at the moment is sync'ing with our iPhones. I don't see any instructions how that's done. I have MobileMe, so everything that changes on my MacBook syncs with my iPhone and vice versa seamlessly; my wife does NOT have MobileMe. She also uses her iPhone more often than she uses her MacBook, so it's essential that we be able to get whatever is going on in gCal to show up in her iPhone iCal. Is there in fact some way to do that? Is it a configuration in gCal? I'm using gCal for the first time today, so it's pretty foreign to me. I am impressed with how easily SpanningSync populated my gCal with the stuff from my iCal, that's surely worth the $20/yr over fussing with CalDAV. Now if I can just get it all to coordinate with the iPhones, we'll be golden.
