Spanning Sync doesn't (yet?) sync to-do's. Google Calendar doesn't have to-do items, and unfortunately the newly-added Tasks in Gmail don't have an API. We're optimistic that Google will provide such an API so we'd be able to sync Gmail tasks with iCal to-dos.
