stomms- Thanks for the report. Unfortunately Google Calendar is currently experiencing a problem where yearly recurring events like holidays and birthdays are not displaying properly. They are however included in search results.
Google has been notified of the problem and we're hopeful they'll have it fixed very soon. I posted about this problem on the Spanning Sync blog last Friday (see http://blog.spanningsync.com) and will update that post when the issue has been resolved.
