Hi, Maybe there's something wrong with the disk image, but there should be a big icon just below the preference pane icon with an arrow pointing at it and saying "double-click to install". In any case, with Spanning Sync 3 you just double-click the pref pane to install it. If System Preferences tells you you're replacing a "newer" version, just continue.
