Hi There,

I too noticed some very strange things once I'd tried the Mac beta! I
installed it because (a) I wanted to see what it was like, (b) update
my BB operating software and (c) get my data properly synchronised --
Missing Sync still leaves some events out and corrupts some address
book entries.

Following the instructions, I deleted Missing Sync first. Things
seemed OK and the new software first updated the OS on my Bold then
synced fine. Seemed OK, but now Spanning Sync was not working :-
( Couldn't sync, but could delete all my contacts and calendars.

I played for ages and eventually purchased the Spanning Sync tools.
Guess what? Spanning Sync now burst back into life -- but now I get
the same errors as you with the Blackberry Desktop Manager saying that
the software wouldn't allow synchronisation.

Seems you're right. Either you have the BB desktop manager or you have
Spanning Synch -- but not both.

Bummer! Why is the synchronisation of simple calendar and address book
data so complicated? Events get dropped (or have their timings altered
because we don't all change our clocks on the same day as the USA).
People lose their phone numbers or e-mail addresses if they happen to
have more than a couple. Recurring annual events (birthdays/
anniversaries) get screwed into a bunch of single-day unrelated
events, one each year. Contact's pictures appear and disappear. Task
completion dates gets removed. Overwrite warnings don't give you the
chance to see what's about to be overwritten and select the correct
version. I could go on (and on, and on).

Fortunately, something has now made GoogleSync work -- dunno what, but
it wasn't working before all this started -- and it can take (most of)
your Google data back to your Blackberry so you can do things that
way.
