Hi,

You have a lot of different options for configuring alarms within your
workflow. If you don't want Spanning Sync to sync alarms to and from
Google, double-click the calendar in the Spanning Sync pref pane and
disable the "sync alarms" checkbox. If you don't want iCal to fire
alarms at all, then you can select the calendar in iCal, select Get
Info from the Edit menu, and check the "ignore alarms" checkbox.

Hopefully one or both of those will suit your wife's needs. If not,
let us know.
