Scanned my contacts out of curiousity, and I come up with a number of
conflicts in several categories. I have two contacts which are listed
with just one name. One of them is someone ("Joe") whose last name I
don't know, and the other one is my voicemail access number.

For Joe, I choose "use '???' instead of the empty name" to fill in his
surname field. For the other (voicemail), I choose "Convert to a
company contact", which seems appropriate.

The interface makes it seem as if you have the option of resolving
each conflict in its own way, but that's not true. I want to resolve
these two issues in different ways, but the software stupidly applies
ONE resolution to the ENTIRE category, even as the UI tricks you into
thinking you're setting a resolution for each conflict individually.
That makes it unusable to me, and I'm forced to just make the changes
to manually via Address Book.

What gives? First off, if nothing else, you need to make it clear via
the interface that you're applying the same solution across the
board.

If you're charging your subscribers for this software, you need to
make it at least work in some kind of flexible way.
