I use Google to sync me and my wife's MobilMe accounts. My iCal syncs to Google Calendar (via Spanningsync) and to MobileMe and my iPhone. With our Google accounts we share our calendars (It's a shame you cant share cal's in MobileMe family account(?)). She has the same specs on her computer and it works like a charm. All our devices plus our Google Apps accounts calendar are in perfect sync. The same works for contacts. I hope this answered your question.
