Hi,

It sounds like you're seeing the formatting characters that were used
in Spanning Sync 2 because of the formatting differences between
Apple's Address Book and Google contacts. You should use Spanning
Sync's Gmail compatibility mode when syncing contacts in Spanning Sync
2:

* Open Spanning Sync
* Select the Contacts tab
* Uncheck and then re-check the "Sync contacts" checkbox
* Choose "Preserve Gmail compatibility" and click "OK"
* Make some small change to one of your contacts in Address Book (to
force an update on the next sync)
* Sync

After that you'll probably need to replace all your contact data on
the phone with a new set.

Thanks,

Byron
