I just yesterday found this posting over at the Spanning Sync blog (I didn't
know they had a blog...) about this very issue. (funny - why didn't that come
up the first time I tried Googling for an answer to this?)

According to this it is perfectly fine to have Spanning Sync running on
multiple machines. After backing up my contacts and calendars I tried this and
indeed it works just fine with no ill effects.
