Hi,

We just learned that Google is now stripping whitespace (newlines,
spaces, and tabs) off the end of calendar event notes. That sounds
like a fine idea, except that in some cases this change can cause a
conflict with iCal which does allow whitespace at the end of the notes
field. If you've gotten the Apple "conflict resolver" window in the
last few days showing a conflict for notes, this is probably why.

If this happens to you, try choosing the iCal version of the event in
the conflict resolver window and be sure to select "resolve all
similar conflicts using iCal" so that you only have to press Continue
once. If the conflict comes back, then you should open the event in
iCal and manually remove any newlines, spaces, or tabs at the end of
the notes field.

We'll be updating our Spanning Tools for Mac software (http://
spanningtools.com/) soon so that it flags and remedies this iCal/
Google incompatibility.
