The vast majority of errors that crop up during normal syncing are Google reporting a temporary outage. They're so sporadic that we felt popping up a window to report them was overkill. If you disable the menu bar icon, you can always open the Spanning Sync log (either from the pref pane or by accessing the file directly) to see if there are any recent errors.

Relying on a non-Apple framework is a really big deal and I've been a little disappointed in the ability of the Growl team to keep up with Mac OS X. They didn't release a 64-bit version until four months after 10.6 was released to developers and their pref pane still isn't 64- bit. If we were dependent on Growl, then we wouldn't have been 64-bit right out of the gate with 10.6 like we were. In this case I don't think the benefit justifies the risk. On the other hand, we've been happy with Sparkle for software updates. -- Larry Hendricks [email protected] http://spanningsync.com On May 19, 9:43 am, Damian <[email protected]> wrote: > Wanting to clean up my menu bar, I realize the only reason I have > Spanning Sync up there is so that I can quickly see if there's > anything wrong (the little red "light" in the middle of the icon). > > I'd like to remove it, but will Spanning Sync pop something up if > syncs aren't happening for whatever reason?
